Can I look up a Slovak company by VAT number?

No. The RPO carries no VAT number (DIČ, IČ DPH) and the IČO is not one, so a vat search for Slovakia is refused. Search by IČO or by name.

Is the IČO mod-11 check enforced?

No. It is advisory: the API validates the six to eight digit format, and a number that fails mod 11 is still looked up. Show it as a warning in your form and not as an error.

Which Slovak entities does it cover?

Commercial legal persons only. Associations, foundations and other non-commercial entities are not served, and sole traders and other natural persons are never served, so a lookup of one returns nothing even though it exists.
