Serbia company data API: look up a company by matični broj

The call
The same endpoint as every other live country, with country=RS. A company is found by its matični broj (MB, 8 digits, the leading zero kept) or by name:
# by matični broj curl -H "Authorization: Bearer rk_live_..." \ "https://api.prometiam.com/functions/v1/risk-api/companies/search?company_number=17204106&country=RS" # by name, in Latin or Cyrillic letters curl -H "Authorization: Bearer rk_live_..." \ "https://api.prometiam.com/functions/v1/risk-api/companies/search?name=elektrohem&country=RS"
A value that is not a matični broj answers with a 400 validation error. A shorter number is read with its leading zero restored, and spaces and hyphens are tolerated. The check digit is enforced: a number whose last digit does not fit is refused, and so is a 13-digit number, which is a personal number (JMBG). The tax number (PIB) is a different number that the register's open data does not carry, so a vat search is refused.
What a record holds
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
company_number | The matični broj, 8 digits, the leading zero kept. |
company_name | As the register writes it, in Latin or Cyrillic letters. |
legal_form | The register’s legal form: limited liability company (d.o.o.), joint-stock company (a.d.), general partnership (o.d.) or limited partnership (k.d.). |
status | Active, in liquidation, in forced liquidation, in bankruptcy or deregistered. The file lists live entities only, so a company that leaves the register shows as deregistered from the snapshot without it. |
| Dates | The date of establishment, as both the founding and the registration date. The register gives no dissolution date. |
city | The municipality, in Latin letters. The Cyrillic name is in registry_details.municipality_name. The open data has no street address. |
| Activity | The KD 2010 code (4 digits, written NN.NN), the national version of NACE Rev. 2 at class level, so nace_class is read straight off it. |
Register-change events and monitoring
Serbia has register-change events and company monitoring from its launch. An event is written when the name, the status, the legal form or the address (the municipality) of a company changes in the register data, and it is dated when the change first appears there; there are none before Serbia's launch in October 2026, and the first come with the next monthly snapshot. Monitoring alerts fire on a status change, a dissolution, a sanctions match and these events, through the same monitoring endpoints as every other country. The register gives no dissolution date, so a deregistration raises a dissolution alert dated by the check that first sees it. A company search or record is 1 credit and an events call 2 credits.
What is not in it
The register's open data carries no officers, no street address, no share capital and no VAT (PIB) number, so Prometiam serves none of them for Serbia; there is no registry-compliance signal, no financial statements and no insolvency notices (a bankruptcy shows in the status). Only the companies of the Register of Business Entities are served (d.o.o., a.d., o.d. and k.d.): entrepreneurs, cooperatives, public enterprises, branches and representative offices of foreign companies, associations and foundations are never served. The data is updated monthly: the register is published as a snapshot cut at month-end, and data_as_of is that cut.
