Lithuanian company code lookup

Type a Lithuanian company code, a Lithuanian VAT number or a company name and get the company from the Register of Legal Entities (JAR): legal name, legal form, status, registered address and county, live. The code and its check digit are verified in your browser first.

What a company code is

Every Lithuanian legal entity has a juridinio asmens kodas of exactly 9 digits, for example 110053842 for Lietuvos geležinkeliai. The ninth digit is a check digit that every register code satisfies. LT in front of the digits is a VAT number.

What the lookup returns

Company records from the Register of Legal Entities (JAR): legal name, legal form, status (including liquidation, bankruptcy and restructuring), registered address with the county, the NACE Rev. 2.1 activity class, share capital for UAB and AB, the VAT number from the State Tax Inspectorate list, and dates; updated daily. Company records only: no officers, no registry-compliance signal and no insolvency notices. Sole proprietorships (individuali įmonė), partnerships (TUB, KUB), branches, state enterprises and non-commercial bodies are never served. Register-change events (name, status, legal form and registered address changes, dated when the change first appears in the register data, none before the first load in October 2026) and company monitoring are available.

FAQ

A VAT number (LT and 9 or 12 digits) is looked up through the State Tax Inspectorate list, not computed from the code. A valid code returns nothing for sole proprietorships, partnerships, branches, state enterprises and non-commercial bodies; they are never served.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Lithuanian VAT number the same as the company code?
No. The VAT number is LT and 9 or 12 digits issued by the State Tax Inspectorate and cannot be computed from the company code. This lookup accepts it and finds the company through the VAT list; the record is null for a company that is not on the list.
Why is my company code refused?
The ninth digit of a Lithuanian company code is a check digit that every register code satisfies, so a code that fails it, or a value that is not exactly 9 digits, is refused before the call.
Why does a valid code return nothing?
Only commercial legal persons are served. A sole proprietorship (individuali įmonė), a partnership (TUB, KUB), a branch, a state enterprise or a non-commercial body returns nothing even though it exists. Try the name search.
Can I do this in code?
Yes: GET /companies/search?company_number=110053842&country=LT with an API key returns the same record as JSON.
