Singapore company data API: look up and validate a UEN

A customer types a UEN or the first letters of a name; your form fills in the entity name, legal form, status, registered address and SSIC code from ACRA. One key and one response shape, the same as every other country the API covers.

Company records from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA): entity name, legal form, status (including liquidation, judicial management, receivership, strike-off and amalgamation), registered address with the postal code, the SSIC 2020 activity code, previous names, and the annual return and accounts due dates; updated monthly. Local companies, limited liability partnerships (LLP) and registered foreign company branches only. Sole proprietorships, general partnerships and limited partnerships are never served. No officers, no registry-compliance signal, no share capital, no dissolution date, no region, no insolvency notices and no VAT (GST) number: a vat search is refused. Register-change events (name, status, legal form and registered address changes, dated by the monthly read that first shows it, none before the first load in October 2026) and company monitoring are available.

What the Singapore record gives your product

  • Exact match on the UEN: company_number=196800306E with country=SG. The check letter is enforced.
  • Autocomplete by name: a normalised, partial match ranked by a match score, one call per keystroke.
  • The fields a form needs: entity name, legal form, status, registered address with the postal code, SSIC 2020 code, previous names.
  • The ACRA annual return and accounts due dates in registry_details.

What Singapore does not carry

No VAT (GST) number, officers, share capital, dissolution date or region. Sole proprietorships, general partnerships and limited partnerships are never served.

Frequently asked questions

How do I look up a Singapore company by UEN from an API?
Call GET /companies/search?company_number=196800306E&country=SG. The check letter is enforced: a UEN that fails it, an 8-digit business UEN, or a value of the wrong shape is a 400 validation error.
Can I look up a Singapore company by GST number?
No. Singapore’s GST number is not in the register data, so there is no vat_number and a vat search is refused.
Is the UEN check letter enforced?
Yes. The letter is computed from the digits, with different weights for a local company and for a limited liability partnership or foreign company branch, and every served UEN satisfies it. Validate in your form to save the call.
Which activity codes do Singapore records carry?
The SSIC 2020 code, 5 digits, in activity_code with activity_code_scheme SG-SSIC-2020. A legacy 4-digit code has no scheme. Prometiam does not derive a NACE class from it.
Does the Singapore record include officers, company events or insolvency notices?
No. Singapore is company-level: no officers, no registry-compliance signal, no share capital, no dissolution date, no region and no insolvency notices. Liquidation, judicial management and receivership show in the status. Register-change events (name, status, legal form and registered address changes, dated by the monthly read that first shows it, none before the first load in October 2026) and company monitoring are available.
Which Singapore entities does it cover?
Local companies, limited liability partnerships and registered foreign company branches. Sole proprietorships, general partnerships and limited partnerships are never served.
How fresh is the data?
Monthly: ACRA publishes its entity information once a month, so a change reaches the record with the next monthly update.
Can I call the API from the browser?
You can, but a key in the browser is public. Proxy the search through your server. Rate limits are per key.
Is there a way to try it before signing up?
Yes: the free UEN lookup runs the same call with a shared key.
