Dutch company data API: look up Dutch companies that hold an LEI
Dutch legal entities in the same record shape as every other country: one key, one call, the source credited. Only entities that hold an LEI and a KVK number are served, from the GLEIF golden copy.
The call
The same endpoint as every other live country, with country=NL. A company is found by its KVK number (exactly eight digits, a leading zero is part of it), by its LEI or by name:
# by KVK number curl -H "Authorization: Bearer rk_live_..." \ "https://api.prometiam.com/functions/v1/risk-api/companies/search?company_number=17085815&country=NL" # by LEI curl -H "Authorization: Bearer rk_live_..." \ "https://api.prometiam.com/functions/v1/risk-api/companies/search?lei=724500Y6DUVHQD6OXN27&country=NL"
A number that is not eight digits is refused with a 400 validation error. The KVK number carries no check digit.
What a record holds
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
company_number | The KVK number as GLEIF records it, eight digits. The lei is a second identifier. |
legal_form | BV, NV, SE (Europese NV), Coöperatie, SCE, OWM (onderlinge waarborgmaatschappij), CV or VOF. |
status | active, deregistered or merged (with the successor LEI). The LEI's own renewal status is in the registry details, never the company status. |
founding_date | GLEIF's entity creation date; it can be later than the company's start where its legal form changed. The company age is counted from it. |
| Address | Registered address with postal code and city; the province only where GLEIF gives one. |
source_provider | GLEIF, read every day. |
Register-change events and monitoring
Changes of name, status, legal form and registered address are served as register-change events, dated when the change first appears in the daily data; there are none before 30 Oct 2026. POST /monitor watches a Dutch company for status changes, a closure, corporate events and sanctions matches. Corporate insolvency notices are linked by KVK number (include=insolvency), but only entities that hold an LEI are served here, so most Dutch insolvency notices link to no company record.
What is not in it
Only Dutch legal entities that hold an LEI and a KVK number are served, not every Dutch company. Sole proprietorships (eenmanszaak), maatschappen, foundations (stichting), associations, churches, public bodies, funds and branches are never served.
- Officers and share capital. Not in the source.
- Activity code. Without one there is no NACE, ISIC or NAICS class and no EU size class.
- VAT number. The Dutch VAT number is not the KVK number and no source carries it; a
vatsearch is refused. - Financial statements. Not served.
A company search or record is 1 credit, events 2 credits.
