Every company in the Latvian Register of Enterprises has a registration number of 11 digits starting 4 to 9, for example 40003032949 for Latvenergo. The last digit completes a mod-11 check, and the API enforces it. The Latvian VAT number is LV and the same 11 digits.

Is the Latvian VAT number the same as the registration number?
It is built on it: LV plus the 11 digits. This lookup reads either form as the registration number.
Why is my number rejected?
The check is enforced: 11 digits starting 4 to 9 with a weighted sum that leaves 3 modulo 11.
