Type a Taiwanese unified business number (統一編號), a VAT number or a company name in Chinese and get the company from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Finance data: legal name, legal form, status, capital and registered address, live. The number and its advisory check are verified in your browser first.
Every company in Taiwan has a unified business number (統一編號) of 8 digits, for example 22099131 for TSMC. Leading zeros count, so 04541302 is eight digits. A TW prefix and full-width digits are read, and a seven-digit value is padded. The check digit is advisory: its rule changed in 2023 and 2024, so a mismatch is a warning and the number is still looked up.
The lookup sends the number to the Prometiam API and shows the name, legal form, status and county or city of the record. Company records from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Finance: Chinese legal name, legal form, status (including dissolution, reorganisation, bankruptcy and revoked registrations), capital, registered address, the Ministry of Finance tax industry code (not a NACE code) and the unified business number as the VAT number where the company is in the tax file. Names are in Chinese; no officers and no insolvency notices. Sole proprietorships, partnerships, domestic branches and cooperatives are never served; Taiwan branches of foreign companies are.

Why is my number flagged?
The check digit is advisory because its rule changed in 2023 and 2024 and a few old numbers fail both versions. A flagged number is still looked up.
Why does a valid number return nothing?
Only companies are served. A sole proprietorship, partnership, domestic branch or cooperative has a unified business number but is never returned. Try the name search.
Can I search in English?
No. Names are in Traditional Chinese; the register publishes no English name.
Can I do this in code?
Yes: GET /companies/search?company_number=22099131&country=TW with an API key returns the same record as JSON.
