Type a Japanese corporate number, a T invoice number or a company name in Japanese or romaji and get the corporation from the National Tax Agency register: name, kind, status and registered address, live. The number and its check digit are verified in your browser first.
Every corporation in Japan has a corporate number (法人番号) of 13 digits from the National Tax Agency, for example 1180301018771 for Toyota Motor. The first digit is a check digit and the check is strict. A leading T, the qualified invoice issuer prefix, full-width digits and hyphens are read and dropped.
The lookup sends the number to the Prometiam API and shows the name, kind, status and city of the record. Company records from the National Tax Agency: name, corporate number, address, status (active, deregistered or merged) and kind; no founding date, activity code, share capital, VAT number or officers, no liquidation or insolvency state and no insolvency notices. Joint-stock, limited, partnership and godo kaisha and registered foreign companies only; government bodies, associations and other corporations are never served.

Why is my number rejected?
The check digit is strict. A number that fails it, or that has only the 12 base digits, is refused before any call. A leading T and full-width digits are fine.
Does a T number work?
Yes. For a corporation the T number is T plus the corporate number, and this lookup reads it as the corporate number.
Why does a valid number return nothing?
Only the listed company kinds are served. Government bodies, associations and other corporations are never returned even though they have a number. Try the name search.
