Type a Slovak IČO and get the company from the Register of Legal Entities (RPO): legal name, legal form, status, registered address and activity code, live. The format is checked in your browser first, and a mod-11 mismatch is shown as a warning, not as invalid.
Every legal entity in the Slovak Register of Legal Entities (Register právnických osôb, RPO), run by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, has an IČO (identifikačné číslo organizácie): eight digits, for example 35763469 for Slovak Telekom, a.s. A six or seven digit number is read with its leading zeros restored. The last digit is a mod-11 check digit with the weights 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
The check is advisory. The API validates that the number is six to eight digits, so a number that fails the check is shown here as a warning and is still looked up. The IČO is not a VAT number and the RPO carries none, so this lookup does not take one.
The lookup sends the number to the Prometiam API and returns the name, legal form, status and city of the record. Company records from the Slovak Register of Legal Entities (RPO): legal name, legal form, status (including bankruptcy (konkurz) and restructuring), registered address, activity code (SK NACE Rev. 2.1) and dates; with register-change events and monitoring, but no officers, no registry-compliance signal and no insolvency notices. Commercial legal persons only (no associations, foundations or other non-commercial entities); no VAT number (a vat search is refused); sole traders and other natural persons are never served.
The full record is one call away. Free — 14-day trial. 1,000 API calls, 10 requests/minute, no credit card. Subscribing keeps the same key working.

Is the IČO the same as the VAT number?
No. The Slovak VAT number (IČ DPH) is a different number and is not in the RPO, so a vat search for Slovakia is refused. Search by IČO or by name.
What does the mod-11 warning mean?
The mod-11 check is a guide, not a rule: some genuine IČO fail it, so a mismatch is a warning and the number is still looked up. A number that passes only shows it is well-formed, never that the company exists.
Why does a valid IČO return nothing?
Only commercial legal persons are served. An association, a foundation, another non-commercial body, a sole trader or any other natural person returns nothing even though it exists. Try the name search.
Can I do this in code?
Yes: GET /companies/search?company_number=35763469&country=SK with an API key returns the same record as JSON.
