An honest comparison for teams weighing cvrapi.dk against Prometiam for Danish company data by API. cvrapi.dk is a lookup API on the Danish Central Business Register (CVR), run by CVR API ApS: its site describes a single endpoint that searches by CVR number, production-unit number or company name, for Denmark and Norway, in JSON or XML, with a free daily allowance of lookups and more available by contacting it. Prometiam is the register-record API: a CVR number, a Danish VAT number or a name in, the CVR record out, in the same response shape as every other live country. Its help page says it shows publicly available data about Danish companies and their associated participants, directors and board members, and it lists bankruptcy notices from Statstidende among the data it shows; its documentation also covers production units and a phone-number search, and its site has a phone-book lookup, where the Danish record on Prometiam is the company record only. Its help page says it fetches fresh data several times a day. It asks for a descriptive User-Agent string and treats the token as optional, so there is no signup step in its documentation.
A price you can see and an API key you can start on. Prometiam publishes every tier from a 14-day trial (1,000 API calls per month, no credit card) through Starter at €9.99 a month to Scale at €99.99, monthly or annual, each with its call allowance and rate limit. cvrapi.dk's documentation states a free daily allowance and says to contact it if you need more lookups, and we did not find a price on its public pages. The official record, validated: the CVR number's eight-digit format is checked server-side, the advisory mod-11 check is a warning and not an error, and the DK VAT alias resolves to the same company, in the same response shape as every other country the API covers.

Free identifier lookup tools, including a CVR lookup, run the same call without a key.
cvrapi.dk's terms (in force from 24 May 2019, per its terms page) say you may not charge for particular features such as name search or for showing information received from it, that a daily limit on lookups applies per organisation or person, that data is provided as is and that it does not guarantee that data stays available.
