In short

If you need a credit score, credit limit and credit rating on a UK business, Experian is the better tool: Prometiam has no score.

If you need register facts, insolvency notices and a sanctions screen (beta) inside your own onboarding flow, with published prices, an API such as Prometiam is the better shape.

When Experian is the better choice

  • You need a credit score and credit limit on a UK or international business, from a credit bureau.
  • You want monitoring alerts built around credit data, not register events.
  • You would rather buy a report on a subscription or one-off basis than build an integration.

When Prometiam is the better fit

  • You need UK register facts inside your own flow: company number, status, officers, persons with significant control, filed accounts and Gazette insolvency notices, in one API call with an answer you can store.
  • You want prices you can read before you talk to anyone, and a 14-day trial.
  • You work across several countries and want the same JSON shape for each of them.
