Company insolvency search: is this company in an insolvency notice?

Pick a market, type a company name or its registry number and read the corporate insolvency notices published for it: date, proceeding, the register's own words and a link to the notice where the market gives one. Sixteen markets, corporate only, never personal insolvency.

How to read the answer

Each result is one published notice: the company name as the notice gives it, the date, the registry number where the market states one, the proceeding in standard words and the register's own words, and a link to the notice where the market has one. A name search matches the words you type anywhere in the name, so use a distinctive word ("Wirecard", not "AG"); a registry number is matched as the register writes it. One company can carry several notices, because a proceeding publishes a notice for each stage.

No result is not proof of solvency. It means no corporate notice matched in the notices this search reads. Check the official register for a decision that matters.

What each market gives, and what it does not

  • Corporate only. Personal insolvency and sole traders' proceedings are never served.
  • Not every market is equally complete. The United States stopped receiving new notices in March 2026; Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Croatia and Estonia have known holes. The grade of each market is in brackets in the picker and explained, with source, date basis and credit line, on the Insolvency API page.
  • Germany. Court notices that are not linked to company records. Austria: notices not linked to its company records (LEI-registered entities only). The Netherlands: notices link by KVK number, but only to entities that hold an LEI, so most link to no company record. United States: notices not linked to company records.
  • Spain. Concurso notices from the entries published in BORME since 2009, dated by the court resolution with the BORME date alongside (a median of about ten weeks later, sometimes over a year); the judge and the administrator are never served.
  • Latvia, Estonia and Singapore. Latvia: proceedings of legal persons of the commercial register, updated daily. Estonia: bankruptcy declarations of companies still on the register only, so a deleted company is missing and the count is a floor.
  • Croatia. Court decisions for companies still on the register. Sweden: Bolagsverket data updated weekly, with no court or case number. Switzerland: linked by UID only where the notice names it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a company is bankrupt?
Pick the company's country in the market list, type its name or registry number and read the notices. A notice means a proceeding was published; no notice is not proof of solvency, so check the official register for a decision that matters.
Does it include personal insolvency?
No. Only corporate notices are served, never the insolvency of individuals or sole traders.
Which markets can I search?
Sixteen: France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Latvia, Estonia and Singapore. They are not equally complete: see the grades on the Insolvency API page.
Why do I see no result for a company I know went bankrupt?
The notice may be in a market with known holes, filed under another spelling of the name, dated outside what the source holds, or not yet published. Try the registry number, and check the official register.
Is the search free?
The search on this page needs no signup, through a shared demo key with a cap on searches. With your own key the same call costs 2 credits.
